What to do when you genuinely do not know
Parents sometimes feel they must be encyclopaedias. You do not. Not knowing is an opportunity to model curiosity. "I do not know why snails have shells. Shall we find out together?" This response does three things. It normalises not knowing. It demonstrates how to seek answers. And it turns a solitary question into a shared project.
